I've had mine take a dive from a table top twice. In both instances the
batteries popped out but all was well with the unit which powered up an worked
fine once the batteries were retrieved and re-installed.

I will be more careful now that I've heard about the screen shattering. I
recall some discussion of smooth versus granulated screens on different OGOs.
I wonder if this could have anything to do with whether one survives
freefall????

Just curious--how sturdy are these things? Sounds like one person's survived
a
five foot drop while another's didn't survive a three foot drop. It seems to

me that HP should be able to design them to withstand a drop from ordinary
shoulder height, no? Any other tales of freefall adventure?
