Notepad font sizes

Does anybody out there know how to set the fontsize in notepad ?
Before you all laugh out loud,the style manager in Notepad seems to
have a default fontsize/alignment setting it uses for every note unless
you change it. I want to be able to set the font size to the smaller
font by default instead of the larger(eg small a , instead of large a)
on the menu bar.
Anyone have any ideas, it's a pain having to remember to change it every
time I enter a new note.
