I was having similar problems that seemed to be related to the 2MB MagicRAM
card I have. In addition, my alarms were randomly NOT going off despite my
making sure they weren't "muted" and that I enter my Appointment book after
a soft-boot.

Anyway, HP sent me an exchange unit and things seemed to have cleared up
pretty much. Although I still can't soft boot with the SRAM card in - unit
locks up. HP says MagicRAM cards are inconsistent in the OmniGo and to use
Verbatim or PreMax Cards. I really wish they had thoroughly tested things
before recommending certain products as compatible.

The replacement I received looked and behaved "good-as-new." Not a single
scratch anywhere.
