I have been playing with the backup of OmniGo and I got following
results:
When batteries are removedm, the backup cell is able to sustain
the data for some 20 hours. During this time the cell goes too
low to power the unit. Before the test the backup had 3.03V and
after 20 + 20 hours (I tested twice) it had 1.04V.
Can anybody do this test also, so that we can compare the results?
(Simply backup your data, reboot Ogo + NEXT to see the test screen,
measure the batteries, reboot again and start Geos, remove main
batteries and try how long the unit will live by re-inserting the batteries
after about 18, 20, 22,.... hours)
My conclusion is that the backup system on OG is very bad! The backup
battery on my Portfolio palmtop sustains the RAM including the running
application for 4 years! I hoped that Ogo would backup the data at least
for a month or so, but I think it is not the case.
