Well, sort of.

I have a great deal of respect for the HP I grew up loving. But I
have to say that the decisions to hamstring both products (I have it
on reliable account that the lion's share of these limitations were
deliberate on the part of some people, and forced on the SW
developers) and keep the architecture as closed as it is were *major*
mistakes.

Any HP people listening? I suggest you rehire any of the 100/200LX
team who may have left for one reason or another and learn from the
things Palm/USRobotics are doing *right*. Palm will eat your lunch,
and I regret saying that, I really do... I wager they already *are.*
But natural selection is by nature heartless.

I was a real loyalist. I gave the OGO every benefit of the doubt. I
even championed the lame and limited Connectivity Pack as good enough.

What changed?

After I found out THE HARD WAY that the Connectivity Kit would
overwrite my last good hot-link backup with zilch once I moved stuff
into a RAM Card (I acknowledge that it was foolish of me, but I did
it) I stopped using my OGO entirely.

Fool me once, shame on you.

I still love the legacy of the HP Corvallis products. It appears that
those days may well be gone forever. Sic transit gloria mundi--It has
been a long time since the HP-35.

*flame off*

PLEA for HELP:

I'd sort of like to recover the data on the RAM Card--any volunteers
out there willing to trade me that for (say) lunch or dinner?
