It's OK, everyone's a newbie at some point :)

You're using the wrong command; to clear state files, you do a soft
reboot, which is SHIFT + ON + NEXT. This will clear all the statefiles
on your OG. FN+F3 is a cammond to close an app, which EXIT does not
do. You use FN+F3 to save HEAP space (like RAM), otherwise you will
have apps running in the background, which will slow down your OGO.
