Has anybody tried leaving the bats in and using alligator clips?

WARNING: DO NOT, I Repeat DO NOT leave the batteries in. It sounds like
a good idea but nine times out of ten the BATTERIES WILL LEAK or
explode. If they leak you can probably, with care clean the contacts but
you risk permanent damage.

You might be able to fit small clips in the empty compartment. The
positive terminal on my ogo seems to be a little too small to allow the
clips to fasten proporly. A small blob of carefully applied solder could
do it. (sorry I can't try this out myself. I can't afford to loose my
ogo if I make a mistake) I suggest as thin a wire as possible, this will
still allow the ogo to fold. One more suggestion, use insulated croc
clips. If one becomes dislodged then the clips have less chance of
shorting each other out and damaging the power supply or ogo.

It's a shame the ogo 100 is going down. Mabee a hardware wish list item
would be a docking station. This could provide power, conversion from
ogo serial to p.c. serial. This would allow you to connect at night,
download info and keep the ogo ticking over until the next day when
battery power would then be used. The one thing is that I don't know a
way of connecting the power supply without removing the batts, you could
make your own power socket in the ogo butthat means tamoering with the
ogo itself....
