ODP: Modems & communication

Jeff,

I tried to use a PCMCIA Xircom 28.8k V32bis modem with the Ogo. Apart =
from the fact that it did not work at all with the batteries (I have =
made myself an AC adapter to use it) it works fine. I tried to use it =
with ProcommPlus from DOS. I had no problems at all i.e. busy signal =
detection, redial and of course RTS/CTS handshaking (a must with the =
Ogo). If I could find software that could work well on the 32 char =
screen, my dream would be fulfilled (for portable communications). Of =
course the ideal would be a geos-based vt100 terminal emulator to read =
and send my mail....

Regards, Maciej

My external modem (US Robotics Sportster 14.4) required me to set a dip
switch to TR (Data Terminal Ready) to "override" before the ogo
communicated with the modem. I wonder if PCMCIA modems have a similar
problem?
