Well, chalk another one up for HP and their FANTASTIC customer support. I was one of the first to get ahold of the OmniGo (Oct. 23)and therefore had a unit that had the glitch which was fixed in the recall. Thanks the GWSteve, I called the HP number and spoke with a rep from HP about 2 weeks ago about the recall. (I didn't want to mess with sending it back to Service Merchandise where I bought it) About 1:00 today, I got a call from HP who informed me that they are sending me a replacement OmniGo and when I receive it, I can just send mine back in to them. So I never have to go a day without my unit. The best part...I should receive the replacement TOMORROW!! Although a connection utility would make transferring data a snap, the ability to have both units available to rekey data is the next best thing. As a market researcher (hence the Gallup) who makes a living studying quality service, I can tell you that this is above and beyond the norm. For all the limitations of the Omni
Go, the small screen, etc, I would much rather have it and great customer service than something like a Zaurus which is admittedly more powerful but suffers from (in my opinion as a former owner) horrendous customer support. There are always workarounds for product limitations and PDA's are used to improvising, but it is very hard to work around poor product support and HP shines in this regard - something to consider when you invest your hard earned $$$.
