Well, I just got my OG (after one hour I have blown 135KB on data... <SIGH>), and am VERY impressed...

The touch screen isn't as sensitive at certain times as I wish it were, but it's quite usable...

Since I have very good eyesight, I have yet to have a problem seeing and reading the screen, even in poor light conditions...

I wish there was more screen real-estate, it looks like HP could've spared at least another 3/4 of a centimeter on all sides, which would give quite a few extra pixels...

I like the included software, but the like of a file manager is already giving me headaches... I'm going to transfer the Z file manager as soon as I get a cable! (Note: I have the Z file manager, from the SDK, I don't own a Z... :>)

Now to the purpose of my title...

I recall one person complaining that you couldn't display a full phone number (E.G. 408-227-1635) in the phone book... Not true... Sort of...

Under the View menu there is an option to adjust the column widths... (Adjust Columns)

Here's a simple way to ensure that you can get two full phone #'s on the screen in list view: Make a fake entry, with a home and office phone # of 888-888-8888 (note: the font is proportional so you want to use the widest numerics available, just in case... :>), then click done. Then of course adjust the field widths until each number can be properly displayed.

This leaves you with a tad narrower field for the name category, but most names should fit comfortably... "Jennifer Frisby" fits comfortably on the screen for example...

And of course to the person who complained about a lack of address fields: When editing a record, hit Fn+PgDn/Fn+PgUp to toggle between the two information pages... :)

I am working on a recomended software list... I'm going to go through EVERY piece of software for GEOS that I can get my hands on, trying out on the OG, and giving a full report of how well it ran (and just a list of those I could not get to run at all...)

Have fun!
