The switch generates an interrupt that tells the Zoomer that the card
is going bye-bye. It then checks to verify no files are open on the
card and, if so, warns you to flip the switch back on and wait while
it closes down the files.
Without the switch, I would assume, you can't use a PC Card.

Install GeoPublish, for this example, it's in C:\GEOS20.
Copy everything from the B:\GEOWORKS\SYSTEM directory into the
C:\GEOS20\SYSTEM directory on your PC. Copy the Apps from the Zoomer
from B:\GEOWORKS\WORLD to C:\GEOS20\WORLD, and copy the help files
from B:\GEOWORKS\USERDATA\HELP to C:\GEOWORKS\USERDATA\HELP.
That's all I needed-- I use a notebook computer as a wide-track zoomer
(albeit with mouse and keyboard)
goldarg> Last thing, what was the best way to backup my zoomer

goldarg> correct?)
I actually use PKZip to back up everything, it works like a charm. (I
have a 512K sram card)
I have a batch file that calls the following (this is from memory, YMMV.):
pkzip -ex -r -p c:\drive_b.zip b:\*.*
pkzip -ex -r -p -X drive*.zip c:\drive_c.zip c:\*.*
This leaves two zipfiles, which can be dumped back onto drive B and drive C
if the Zoomer dies. I could rewrite this to do incremental backups
(PKZip supports this) if I got sufficiently motivated... Inertia is a
bad thing...
This allows you to do just 2 file transfers after getting the backup
done, and compresses the backups, both good things...
