Several months ago I too tried a Maxtor Mobilemax 2 meg Flash Card and got the same message. More recently I have seen messages that claim that these cards work in a Zoomer, but I believe that you have confirmed that they do not work in a Zoomer.
I recently bought an HP F1018A 5 meg flash card which with Stacker gives me approximately 12 megs. Other HP cards that are made for the HP 95LX will also work in the Zoomer.
I hope that Educalc will give you a refund.
