The software on the Zoomer compresses data as much as it can--all data. Ink,
however, is not stored as "bitmapped data" but as a series of strokes. The
compression for each stroke actually is pretty good, and it eliminates all
the redundant points (e.g. a four-inch straight line might take up 14 bits or
something). Thus, Ink in some cases can actually take less storage than
text, depending on how complex the ink image is.
