"Introduction to Pen Computing" Telecourse Set for Release
A five-hour videotape program covering the emerging pen computing field will
be available beginning February 25, 1994. The program features David
Schachter, President of Greenwire Consulting, and guest presenters from
Apple, AT&T, CIC, Pen Pal Associates, and other leading companies in pen
computing. It covers the theory and practice of pen computing, do's and
don'ts for successful pilot projects, and looks at current and future pen
computing platforms, application development environments, and operating
systems. The course also provides a valuable overview of successful pen
computing applications and the problems and solutions in communicating with
wireless pen computers.
The five videotaped program segments are:
- What Pen Computing Is... And Isn't
- Pen Operating Systems and Environments
- Application Builders and Case Studies
- Communicating with Pen Computers (hosted by Dick Roistacher of
Belmont Associates)
- Course Summary, In-depth Demonstrations, and a "Top Ten List" of
Ways to Fail in Pen Computing Pilots
According to Janet Morgan, President of Silicon Valley Teleconference
Services, and Executive Producer of the program, these tapes are a
remarkably effective, quick and economical way to get everyone in an
organization "up to speed" on pen computing. "If you can't have David
Schachter in person," Morgan noted, "this program is the next best thing.
His broad knowledge of the field is condensed into five intense hours, with
no wasted time or fluff." Clayton Weimer of AT&T Microelectronics said,
"Anyone getting into pen computing really needs these tapes."
Individual tapes in VHS NTSC format are priced at $59 and the complete
five-hour course is available at $249, a savings of $46. Each tape comes
with a complete set of course notes and graphics. For more information or a
course brochure, contact Janet Morgan at 408-255-6790, fax: 415-328-7154,
