The Newton PCMCIA modem, power-wise, will work great in the Zoomer.  It's
power requirements are well below the limits for the Zoomer's PCMCIA slot. 
But, as I stated before, the current PCMCIA serial drivers on the Zoomer will
not work with standard PCMCIA serial devices.  This is really too bad, as I
have the Newton PCMCIA modem for use in my 2 Newtons (hey, before you flame
me, I have 2 Zoomers also) and it really works great.  I especially like the
X-Jack phone connector.
