More GEOS tricks:

TextReader:
<geos.ini>
Change the REGISTERFLAG from 0 to 1 and your copy will be 'registered'.
(that one is for information purposes only! register your SW! Support
your authors!)

Get rid of that disgusting notebook font:
Copy a b:\geoworks\userdata\font file to another name in GeoManager,
then exit to dos with a batch file and rename it as SANS.FNT. Careful,
it really screws the app up but it looks nicer. Maybe MONO.FNT wouldn't
screw it up as bad.

Pseudo-command line:
Look at the Enhanced Zoomer files I posted yesterday. In GEOS.INI where
it says:

*.com = ?
*.exe = ?

add the line:

*.bat = ?

Now create a batch file called 'DO.BAT'.

contents:

%1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9

Now this will execute your DOS statement.

Get rid of that @#$% express icon in enhanced Zoomer:
That *E* icon at the top of the box can get in the way of the FILE menu
and start to get annoying. Delete the 'EXPRESSOPTIONS=' line in your
GEOS.INI.

Play .WAV files!

Copy any .WAV file to the directory [B][C]:\geoworks\userdata as the
filename "palm.wav". Now when you go [HELP][ABOUT] in a Palm Computing
prog, it will play your .WAV file! It cuts off some of the .WAV file for
some reason, though. [B][C] means either drive B: or C:

Have fun, Zoomerites!

I will post some more tricks & techniques I have discovered later on.

TIP: Order GeoWorks ensemble!!!! It is only $80.00 and has a truckload
of apps you can use on your Zoomer. It also can link-up with it so you
don't have to use the semi-unreliable (but hey, it's free, never look a
gift horse in the mouth, beggers can't be choosers) ZDOS. It has a great
little wordprocessor, spreadsheet, Tetris to play with the control-pad, a
drawing program, fonts, drivers, a VT100/ZModem Comm prog, etc. Check
out ftp:

ftp.arginine.umdnj.edu://pub/geos/publish/*

and that's the shareware version of Ensemble (missing apps).
