Same thing happened on my 1 Meg Newton card. Somehow in swapping between
machines, it got formatted to 13K and from that point on File Manager kept
formatting it to 13K (even after leaving battery out for 24 hours and running
SDISK.EXE).

Finally formatted properly on my AST Penexec notebook's PC card slot to
1.02 Meg.

One other thing to note, if you take your card to a store to format it on
a laptop with a slot, make sure it's got the PCMCIA drivers loaded. Some
stores leave those drivers off the autoexec and config.sys.

Also on older machines, PC cards aren't 'hot-swappable' meaning they may
not be properly recognized by the laptop unless they're in the slot during
boot-up.
