I bought some AA lithiums in the Los Angeles area (LA Tronics, a discount
photo/electronics store) for $3.97 (pkg of 2). If as Golan says, you
get 3 times the life on these, then you still haven't gained much in the way
of performance/cost (at $0.50 per std alkaline)....but I'm game to try.

I'll report on my experiences with these in the future.
