Subject: More on Epson PCMCIA SRAM
Status: RO
Hi All: Thanks to everyone who sent me info re my problems with the
Epson 1 MB SRAM card. I could not get my Zoomer to format the disk
to a full meg. I ended up going back to the place I bought the card,
where they formatted it on a laptop DOS machine. It works great now!
I tried replacing the main batteriesbefore formatting and that did not
help, although my batteries were low. One important note on formatting
a SRAM card on a DOS machine for Zoomer use: It is important to include
a volume label, otherwise you end up with only 122 KB of available memory
again.
Interestingly, I also own a HP 128 KB RAM card that my Zoomer also
formatted to only 122 KB. I dont know if I have been doing something
wrong, or if there is a bug in the Zoomer OS.
Bottom line: The Epson 1 MB card SRAM card works great on my Zoomer,
but I had to have it formatted on a laptop DOS machine. Thanx again
to everyone who helped.
