Subject: Palm Export Utility on FTP node
Status: RO
Palm's new Export utility is available for downloading at:

ftp.netcom.com /pub/palm

The Palm Export utility creates ASCII text file copies of Note Book text
information for use by other software applications. It is designed to
run on the desktop under PalmConnect. We do not recommend that
you install Export on your PDA, because space and performance
considerations may be prohibitive, and you will still need some
means to copy the resulting ASCII file from the PDA to the machine
where it will be used.

Requirements:
- Requires 8064 bytes of file space. Additional space must be
available to create the ASCII document file. Each ASCII copy will be
almost as big as the original Note Book.
- Converts text only. Ink entries will be ignored.
- Page titles of the Note Book document will be inserted as section
headings in the text file (even if there are already headings at the top
of the Note Book page).

Features:
- Creates a text copy of the Note Book file. The original file is not
affected.
- Will convert all pages of a Note Book document to a single ASCII
(.txt) file. Multiple Note Books may NOT be converted to the same
filename.
