Subject: Unistrokes for the Zoomer?
Status: RO

I have had my zoomer for a couple of months now, and I am very pleased
with the hardware, but the user interface needs a little work.
I want to be able to take notes on it and use it as digital paper when I
brainstorm, but the character recognition routine is too slow for the
scaled down CPU, and the slow CPU is necessary for long battery life.

Personally, I doubt that fast full-character recognition is possible with a
7.5 Mhz CPU, but I am also certain that something like Unistrokes can
be recognized in real time. I have no problems with learning a new way
to write. So, has anyone implemented on such a system? If not, what software
would I need to implement one myself? How well does the Geos SDK document
how digital ink is implemented on the ZPDA? I essentially want
an extra keyboard option. Can one be added?

Thanks!

-Tony

PS. For those who have not heard of unistrokes, It is a way to represent
characters with single strokes of a pen. The strokes do not look like
English letters, but with real-time character recognition, such
     similarities are not necessary.
