If all tou want to do is run DOS programing then maybe a Zoomer is not for you. BUT, if you need a tool to manage information than I feel the Zoomer can't be beat ( not that I've tried anything else ).
The Address Book, Date Book, and Note Book save me from having to carry a briefcase, day planner, not to mention a clip board and legal pad.
Add to that a PCMCIA port for a modem or extended memory, and a connecting pac such as Palm Connect and ther is no stopping you.
Then you can enhance the speed and productivity of the machine with such add ons as Expert Mode and Griffiti.
So get off your duff and go buy one.
