I'm not sure about the Mac prices, but I think you're giving SoftWindows an
unfair assessment. It runs Windows (and DOS) programs rather slowly, being an
emulator, but I think that it will run any such program -- not just "286"
programs, which I take to mean Windows in standard mode. From what I can tell,
the version I'm using will run Windows in enhanced mode (which means that it
emulates 386+ CPU protected mode).

I've just started running Softwindows on a SPARCstation 5 at the office and
will report back on how it works for Zoomer connectivity.
