I just bought one of the PM144MT II modems from Price-Costco. Oddly enough,
when I log onto my Net provider's number, the modem won't invoke my Telemate
communications program into the terminal mode. My old modem always did. I
don't know if I need to modify the setup string, or what. I hope it's not a
modem fault. Just thought I'd tell you about this, since it seems to be a
similar problem to what you're experiencing. Let me know if you find a
solution. I have to manually invoke the terminal part of the program, but
everything seems to work OK after that. Good luck.
